A few weeks ago I wrote an article about other touch-screen phones. Phones that are much better than the iPhone in almost every aspect. After I rote that article I found out (from other users) about iPhone Clones. I serached the web and fount a few: CECT P168, CECT HiPhone and a few more that aren’t really worth to mention.
I liked the CECT P168 not because of it’s design (it looks almost identical to the iPhone) but because it is a little cheaper than the CECT HiPhone.
Compared to the iPhone, CECT P168 looks the same (at first sight) but if you look a little closer, you can see that it has more buttons than the original iPhone. This isn’t bad because I don’t like to answer the calls from the screen. I prefer a button that I can really push. This was there is a less chance of answering accidentally. Also, for its price of under 120$ (+shipping) I decided to get one (in my country there aren’t many iPhones, you can’t even buy one at the store…so I would really make a BUZZ to my friends when they will see it). So I decide: What the heck…it is cheap (sort off).

I searched on eBay for one (the cheappest of course) and bought it. The price of the phone was 95$ (and I had a car recharger, two batteries, card reader, 256MB microSD memory card, leather pouch, silicon protector and a screen protector included in the package). The shipping was another 35$, so the total price wasn’t really that bad. Everything worked smooth and in 14 working days I had a brand new iPhone clone.

It looked good and at the beginning I did not have any problems with it. Beautiful display, working touchscreen, a pen in case I don’t want to use my fingers, writing recognition, music player, 2MP camera, video player, bluetooth, WAP internet, email client (work with gmail and yahoo as well), eBook reader (supports TXT only) and a few other features. Almost everything a phone (not a PDA or smartphone) needs. Like i expected my friend’s first reaction was: WOOOW! You got an iPhone? :O (of course I told them it is only an iPhone close). But hey…I don’t have 400$ to spend on one.

The menu looks also just like the iPhone, but it does not have so many functions and animations. But like I said, I won’t spend 400$ just for animations. I want to talk to the phone, not watch how the menu opens. It has a basic music player, but it is enough for your daily needs. I did discover one bug in the music player: If you set the songs to shuffle, if you close and reopen the player it plays the songs continuously. You have to set it manually back to shuflle. But this isn’t such a big problem. Another small disadvange is that you don’t have an internal memory, but you can use a memory card (a 256MB one is included). The biggest downfall is that it does not have JAVA!!!! YES!!! At leas no one managed to install anything yet. As far as I heard there are people that are working on an update for the soft…but we will just have to wait and see.

So what is the total score? Well, if you don’t have 400$ to buy an original iPhone, get this one. If you want a better one that looks exactly like the iPhone 9including menu animation and so on) get the CECT HiPhone. From my point of view, just because it has the Apple and iPhone logo on it, it doesn’t mean it has to cost more than triple.

P.S. forgot to mention, you can use it as a webcam as well…to bad yahoo messenger does not support MJPG Webcam Compressions.

When the new iPhone was released the new touch-screen technology really created a buzz in the technology enthusiasts, and also to the consumers. The iPhone had some really good functions, especially for music, but the most interesting things and what everyone wanted to test was new touch-screen. I will open the new “Hardware” category with much better touch-screen phones than the iPhone. Here are the best 3 alternatives to iPhone.

1. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

I must admit that I am a SE fan and this phone will make you say to iPhone: YOU SUCK! The new SE XPERIA X1 is by far the best smart phone there is on the market. THe phone memory is only 400MB but it has build-in support for microSD cards. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 witch allows you to instal more applications on your phone (finding really good apps for iPhone can really take time and usually these apps don’t even exist). Another advantage it has over the iphone is the full QWERTY fully functional keypad. The keypad is hidden from view but the phone slides up and reveals the elegant keypad. And for those music enthusiasts, I must also ad that has a build in music player that supports most music formats.

2. Sony Ericsson W960i

If you had bought the iPhone for music then you will love this phone. The SE Walkman series are famous for the music player and the quality of the sound. The new SE W960i phone brings the best music player there is and has a touchscreen to manage your files with ease. The 8GB memory is more than enough for all your favorite tracks.

3. LG Voyager

Choosing the 3rd place was really hard. I had two candidates for this place, both from LG. After I made a little debate in my mind I finally chose the LG Voyager (the other phone was LG Prada). Even if the design of the LG Prada is more beautiful, I chose this only because it has a fully functional QWERTY keypad. Both have a touchscreen and both can play music. The design is superior than the iPhone’s and the functions and software support is also grater. So thy do you need an iPhone?

These are the 3 phones that I think are far superior than the iPhone. If you chose to buy one of these or stick to the iPhone that is up to you, but take in consideration: if it starts a buzz, that doesn’t mean it is really that grate.
